Yesterday, Icelandic broadcaster RÚV announced the participants and songs for the first of three semifinals, which takes place 21st January. Now we can also provide you with the first details of the second semifinal, to take place 28th January, exclusively!

Örlygur Smári, composer of the song Eldur nýr, was the composer of the song Tell me that represented Iceland at the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm. Sveinn Rúnar Sigurðsson, composer of the song 100%, was the composer of the song Heaven which represented Iceland in 2004. Eyjólfur Kristjánsson, composer of the song Lífið, was the singer and composer of Nina, which represented Iceland in 1991.

Another exclusivity from Iceland: Þorvaldur Bjarni Þorvaldsson, Sveinn Rúnar Sigurðsson and Örlygur Smári all have songs in the third and last semifinal on 4th February.
