On 21st January, the Reference Group of the Eurovision Song Contest will meet in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, to discuss the progress of the organisation of the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest.

According to our Greek colleagues of Oikotimes.com, tickets will go on sale at the end of January. The final seating plan and the conditions under which tickets will be sold will have to be approved by the Reference Group. Host broadcaster ERT promised to start ticket sales in January/February and thus keeps its promise so far. Stay tuned at esctoday.com for the latest news about ticket sales!

The stage of the 51st Eurovision Song Contest will be in the shape or a circle. According to unconfirmed rumours, the stage design has strong link with ancient Greek architecture, although it is expected that the Reference Group still has to approve the design during the meeting on 21st January. As it seems, the stage design allowes more tickets to be sold – approximately 18,000 per event. Details will be announced by ERT on 23rd January.
