Francine Jordi, who represented Switzerland in the 2002 Eurovision Song Contest, is the hottest favourite to become the new host of the monthly 'Volksmusik' show Musikantenstadl after Karl Moik retired on December 31st after he was the moderator of the programme for 25 years.

After Francine Jordi won the 'Grand Prix der Volksmusik' in 1998, she has become a star in the 'Volksmusik' scene in the German speaking countries and one of the best selling artists concerning this sort of music. 'Musikantenstadl' is made in Germany, because of that the Swiss singer isn't sure if she will do the job. She told to a Swiss newspaper: 'I will have a close look on the time table. I wouldn't give up my dog, and especially not my husband'.

In December, the 28 year old singer already hosted 'Stars in der Manege' together with Arabella Kiesbauer (for Austria) and Nina Ruge (for Germany). The annual programme is made by Austria, Switzerland and Germany and shows celebreties 'working' as artists in a circus. In the media, she has been commended for the 'great presentation' of the show.

In 2002, Francine Jordi finished 22nd (third from last) with the French language song Dans le jardin de mon âme.
