Earlier this week, Oikotimes.com launched the story that Cyprus and Russia are interested to host the 2007 edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The 2006 edition has already been awared to Romania. Svante Stockselius confirms.
“We have not yet started the active negotiations regarding the 2007 Junior Eurovision Song Contest”, contest supervisor Svante Stockselius of the European Broadcasting Union said to esctoday.com. “However it is true that both Cyprus and Russia verbally showed interest, together with other broadcasters”, he added, pointing out that these two countries are not the only countries that showed interest to host the fifth edition of the pan-European event.
A decision about the host country for the 2007 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be taken later this year.
