Former Latvian participants of the Eurovision Song Contest Walters & Kazha (2005) and Brainstorm (2000) have given their fans early Christmas presents by releasing a CD and a DVD.

The Latvian duo Walters & Kazha have released their first album The war is not over containing their Eurovision Song Contest entry, a cover version of the Olsen Brother's Fly on the wings of love as well as 13 other songs. Although the album is available now in Latvia only, it is intended to be distributed in other countries, too. Before New Year's Eve, the CD is going to be released in Lithuania where the duo has achieved popularity and and their songs have been among the most played on radio stations.

Brainstorm's latest CD Cetri krasti (Four Shores) has reached platin status in Latvia (15,000 ex sold). They broke Latvian record by gathering more than 40,000 people for their last summer tour concert which has been released in DVD version Cetri krasti. Koncerts Mazaparka. There are 25 songs, an intro and comments included in the DVD.

Meanwhile, record companyMicRec has announced a competition for singing Latvian families to perform We are the best at Eirodziesma 2006. The song is written by Tomass Kleins (represented Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 together with Ivo Fomins) and Guntars Racs who wrote the Dziesma par laimi lyrics.
