Songwriter Ralph Siegel named Swiss singer Francine Jordi as his “favorite candidate” to present the Swiss Eurovision entry 2006. Jordi already represented her home country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002, finishing 22nd with Dans le jardin de mon âme. The Swiss entry in 2006 will be written by Ralph Siegel and Bernd Meinunger.

“I think she is one of the most talented Swiss singers. She is sold below value in Volksmusik”, Siegel said in an interview with Swiss SonntagsZeitung, as news.ch reports. Albeit her poor result at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002, Francine Jordi is a very successful singer in Switzerland. Her recent repertoire consists mostly of “Volksmusik”, a Schlager-like sort of music aiming towards a mostly elderly public.
