In this year’s second semi–final of the Eurovision Song Contest we’ll be able to see an interval act made by a  particular type of an orchestra.

For many years, a full symphony orchestra featured in Eurovision, but with modern changes in music scene that changed in 1999.

SVT (Swedish Television) will bring it back again to the  Eurovision stage for the interval act in the second semi–final in an unusual way. It is going to be made of the best dancers in Sweden. Each of them will be a different musical instrument, guiding us through the history of the contest. In the end all of the instruments will compose a full symphony orchestra, say people who are behind this act, Fredrik “Benke” Rydman and Jennnie Widegren.

Finally, we will have created a piece of music, with a full symphony orchestra, and then break it off with something completely different, modern synthesizers and sound along with BMX bikes will represent the new modern era, describes Jennie Widegren.

The second semi-final will take place in exactly a month from today, 16 May, in Malmö.
