Latvian broadcaster LTV today provided the first statement on their way of choosing next year's Latvian entrant in the Eurovision Song Contest. They will use the same format as last year, when Walters and Kazha reached a fifth place with The war is not over after two years of disappointing results.
The Latvian representative will be selected through two semifinals and one final. The rules and terms for the national final will be slightly changed, among them, writers, composers and singers are allowed to be of any nationality. The songs can be sung in any language. The complete rules will be revealed on September 19th.
The two semifinals will probably take place in February, the final will be held at the beginning of March.
