In the first semifinal of the Dutch Junior Nationaal Songfestival 2005, the three juries unanimously agreed. Five participants performed for two final tickets, won by Tjindjara and Tess. Tess received 12 points from the professional jury, the junior jury and the televoters.

Unlike previous years, the national selection takes place in the Utrecht Central Studios, instead of the Pepsi Stage Theatre in Amsterdam. The results*;
1. Tess –Stupid | 12-12-12 | 36 points
2. Tjindjara – Blijf jezelf | 10-10-8 | 28 points
3. The Smilies – Als je lacht | 7-6-10 | 23 points
4. Angelo – Slapeloze nachten | 8-5-7 | 20 points
5. Mitchell – Jij bent alles voor mij | 6-8-6 | 20 points
* Points given by the professional jury, the junior jury and the televoters.
In next week's second semifinal, another couple will be selected for the final. Out of all songs and singers that didn't qualify, the jury will select one extra participant. This means that The Smilies, Angelo and Mitchell still have a chance to enter the final.
