Former Finnish Eurovision Song Contest participant Marion Rung will have her 60th birthday on December 7th, as well as this she celebrates 45 years of music career at the same time. Because of that, she will release a special CD compilation box in September, featuring her most famous songs from 1971 to 1986.
The box will contain 4 CDs with 88 songs in total. 40 of them were never released on CD before. Among the songs there are also special recordings in German and English she made abroad in the 70s. In September there will also be launched a biography of Marion Rung called Minä ja Marion (Marion and me) which will tell about her career as well as about her private live, which hasn't been so happy all time.
Marion Rung is the most successful Finnish Eurovision Song Contest entrant ever: In 1962 she came equal 7th with the song Tipi-tii. In 1973 she finished 6th, the best placing for Finland ever in the contest, singing Tom tom tom. She also took part in several national finals in Finland and in festivals all over Europe. She has made a name of herself as one of the most popular Finnish music acts.
