The band Athena, which represented Turkey at the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest with For real, provides a song for the popular soccer computer game FIFA 06. The game will “unleash an international mix of music in the in-game soundtrack”, game company EA stated.
39 tracks by artists from countries around the world will populate the musical portion of the game. Each song was chosen by EA Sports due to their up-beat tempo and ability to propel players deeper into the game. The Turkish band Athena provides the song Tam zamani simdi.
“Spain, Germany, Brazil, Canada, Jamaica, France and the UK – these are just a few of the countries represented on the FIFA 06 soundtrack”, said Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive of Music and Music Marketing at EA. “There is no sport more global than soccer. The FIFA 06 soundtrack encapsulates the passion and pride of each country, their clubs and the music that defines it all”.
After the country's victory in 2003, Athena successfully represented Turkey in 2004 ending 4th.
