The 7th of November is the release date of a unique box containing ABBA's complete studio-recorded output. This is the first ever release of a complete ABBA studio recordings set since the bands formation, now 33 years ago, and the first set to tell the ABBA story both through audio and video content.
ABBA: The complete studio recordings, is a release by ABBAs former official record company Polar Music International and will be a strictly limited edition. The set will comprise of nine CDs and two DVDs, plus a full colour booklet with timeline and photos. A separate booklet will contain lyrics to all the songs contained in the box set.
The nine CD's comprise every single studio-recorded piece of music commercially released by the Swedish group (under the name ABBA and/or Björn & Benny, Agnetha & Anni-Frid/Frida) on single, LP or CD, including alternate mixes.
Of particular Eurovision Song Contest interest should be the rare alternate mix of Waterloo, which has never been available on CD before. The two DVD's will feature all the promo videos ever released by the band, The History documentary that covers the overview of the ABBA story, and a previously unreleased concert.
ABBA became internationally famous after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 with Waterloo. For the contest's 50th anniversary show Congratulations, bookmakers generally predict Waterloo to become the all-time winning song, out of the 14 entries qualified for the anniversary show.
