A total of 25 songs have been submitted for the 2005 Junior Eurovision Song Contest selections in Romania. Romanian broadcaster TVR selected 20 of them to take part in a national final, to be organised on 20th August.
On Saturday 20th August, TVR will be broadcasting a two hour lasting show in which the 20 finalists will present their song. Special guests at the live broadcast will be Noni Razvan Ene, last year's Romanian Junior Eurovision Song Contest representative who finished 4th in Lillehammer, and the popular teenage star Alina Sorescu.
In order to increase the popularity of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, TVR will be broadcasting two special shows the weeks before the 2005 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. On 12th and 19th November, the Romanian television viewers will be informed about the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and the songs from all over Europe taking part in the third edition of the contest.
Romania will be making its third appearance in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Last year Romania was represented by Noni Razvan Ene. In 2003, Bubu & Co finished 10th.
