The Spanish selections for the 2005 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held in September, Spanish broadcaster TVE informed esctoday.com. During Eurojunior 2005, which will consist of three galas, the TVE viewers will be able to decide who'll succeed last year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest winner María Isabel.

Last year the Spanish Junior Eurovision Song Contest selections were launched in June. 40 kids appeared at the start of Eurojunior 2004. After four galas, 16 of them remained in the running for representing Spain in Lillehammer.

The 16 kids were mixed, resulting in solo, duo and group performances. The 7 formations all performed two songs, of which one proceeded to the final. This long selection procedure won't be repeated this year.

Spanish broadcaster TVE is currently planning a casting in which the Eurojunior 2005 participants will be selected. TVE is planning three galas, to be broadcast in September. The winner of Eurojunior 2005 will succeed María Isabel, who won the 2004 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the song Antes muerta que sencilla.

The third edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest takes place in the Ethias Arena in Hasselt (Belgium) on 26th November 2005.
