In a poll conducted by the Dutch Eurovision Song Contest website songfestival.web-log.nl, the Dutch fans have selected former Idols participant Hind as the ideal representative for the Netherlands at next year's contest in Greece.

Almost 900 people have cast their vote on songfestival.web-log.nl. In a poll in which the twelve most mentioned future Dutch Eurovision Song Contest representatives participated, Hind gained 16% of all votes…

1 – 16.0% | Hind
2 – 14.9% | Within Temptation
3 – 12.9% | Glennis Grace
4 – 11.1% | Ch!pz
5 – 8.1% | Elize
6 – 8.0% | Jan Smit
7 – 7.1% | Do
8 – 5.3% | Trijntje Oosterhuis
9 – 5.0% | Ebonique
9 – 5.0% | Boris
11 – 3.9% | Di-rect
12 – 2.4% | Treble

Hind gained more votes than Dutch gothic band Within Temptation and pop foursome Ch!pz, who both are successful in several parts of Europe. The new Dutch dance sensation Elize, who recently broke through in the Netherlands and Flanders with the hit single Automatic, completes the top five in which this year's Dutch representative Glennis Grace reached the third place.

The results of the poll could be a hint to Dutch broadcaster NOS, that will be inviting several composers and artists to take part in next year's Dutch Eurovision Song Contest selections. NOS dropped the Nationaal Songfestival format with semifinals and will be broadcasting one show only in 2006.

After the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest, the Netherlands will be deciding whether to continue participating in the contest or not.
