Eurokids 2005 on 4, 11 and 18 September

For the first time, Flemish broadcaster VRT and Belgium's French speaking community broadcaster cooperate in order to select a representative for a Eurovision Song Contest. Being the hosts of the 2005 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, the Belgian broadcasters plan an extensive coverage of the Belgian national selections. The liveshows of Eurokids 2005 take place on 4th, 11th and 18th September.

Yakalee yakalea (Ik hou van muziek / On aime la musique)
The twelve finalists of Eurokids 2005 all together recorded the single Yakalee yakalea (Ik hou van muziek / On aime la musique). The video clip for the song will be broadcast by VRT and RTBF the upcoming months. The kids will be promoting their song in Belgium on big events such as Pennenzakkenrock and Le Beau Vélo de Ravel.

Thirteen weeks long on Ketnet
Thirteen Wednesdays long, the adventures of the Eurokids 2005 participants can be followed on Flemish broadcaster VRT's youth channel Ketnet. As of Wednesday 29th June, the selections of the 12 finalists, the preparations for the live shows and backstage images of the live shows will be shown. The last episode of the program, presented by Ketnet wrappers An and Erika and the RTBF presenter Maureen, will be aired on Wednesday 21st September.

Ten weeks long on La Une
The French speaking Belgians can follow the selections and preparation on RTBF's first channel La Une, as of 25th June, ten weeks long on Saturday nights at 20:15 CET. The program will be repeated on La Deux on Wednesdays at 18:15 CET.

Live shows: two semifinals and a final
The live shows of Eurokids 2005 will be taking place in September. The first semifinal will be held on Sunday 4th September. The second semifinal takes place one week later. On 18th September the Belgian representative for the 2005 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Hasselt will be selected during the final of Eurokids 2005. The live shows will be hosted by Ilse Van Hoecke and Jean-Louis Lahaye in Flemish and French.
