Estonian representative in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1996 and 1997, Maarja-Liis Ilus, was sharing a responsibility in causing a car accident last autumn. She was naturally fined for this kind of action.

Press Chief of Northern Police region of Tallinn Madis Tilga said that a fine is 600 kroon (approx. 38,6 euro) and was appointed to Maarja as well as to the other part in the accident.

24 year old Ilus ended up in the car accident last year, on Oct 26th approximately 6.30 p.m., when she hit another Mercedes with her own Mercedes.

The Mercedes hit by Maarja's car eventually hit a Volkswagen Passat. Maarja was injured in the accident and she was taken to hospital, but her injuries turned to be light. Doctors let her home after first aid.

Meanwhile she seemed to have recovered well. Estonian fans surely remember her surprizing ballad version of Tanel Padar's and Dave Benton's 'Everybody in Eurolaul 2005 live programme.
