For the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Eurovision Song Contest, the European Broadcasting Union will be releasing a special double album, including no less than 100 songs, and a DVD featuring all winners and favourite acts from 1956 to today.

All Eurovision Song Contest winners from 1956 until 2005 and the all-time favourites will be collected on a double album. The 50th anniversary double album, containing no less than 100 Eurovision Song Contest entries, will be released in September 2005.

For the occasion of the 50th anniversary show to be held on 22nd October in Copenhagen, the European Broadcasting Union is also planning the release of a special DVD. All winners, favourite acts from 1956 to today and lots of bonus material will be compiled on two DVDs, which will be on sale for the price of one.

The first ever Eurovision Song Contest took place on Thursday 24th May 1956 in Lugano, Switzerland. On Saturday 21st May 2005, the final of the 50th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Kyiv.
