While the media attention for RTBF's national final is extremely low in Wallonia and Flanders, the interest in Nuno Resende in Portugal is high. Nuno was born in Porto and lived in Portugal till the age of twelve. Portuguese broadcaster RTP interviewed Nuno in Brussels and Nuno premiered his song for the Portuguese audience in last night's Telejornal.
RTP's correspondent in Brussels, António Esteves Martins, introduced Nuno Resende to the Portuguese people last night in Telejornal. Nuno opened the report with an acapella performance of Le grand soir and later on he gives an impression of how the songs sounds in its English version.
“My recent career is like a dream and being in the Belgian national final is a continuation of that dream,” Nuno explains. At the age of twelve Nuno moved with his family from Portugal to Belgium. With his participation in the Belgian national final, Nuno wants to thank the Belgians for their hospitality in a musical way. “Belgium has treated me like their son and because of that they deserve this.” Although he has been living in Belgium for twenty years, he still has good memories to Portugal.
Nuno is looking forward to performing in Kiev. “It is an artist's ultimate dream to perform for millions of people.” But first he will have to win the national final in which he will be competing against Tiffany Ciely. Nuno Resende will be singing the song Le grand soir (The big night), a song composed by Alec Mansion and Frédéric Zeitoun.
