On 19th May in the semifinal of the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest, Monaco will be represented by Lise Darly. Esctoday.com had an interview with the Monegasque representative and with Phil Bosco, who wrote the song Tout de moi.
Esctoday.com talked with Lise Darly about her selection to represent Monaco in Kiev, about her song Tout de moi and the experience of singing with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Monaco. Phil Bosco, Head of Delegation at Monegasque broadcaster TMC and song writer of Tout de moi explains us last year's result of Märyon, the choice for Lise Darly and the song he wrote for her.
For our French speaking visitors we would like to refer to the French website eurovision.le-site.info where the interview is available in French.
Lise, you were born in Nice. Are you French or Monegasque and what is your link with Monaco? Why did you subscribe for the Monegasque Eurovision castings last year?
Lise Darly: I was born in Nice, hence I am French. Last year, I participated in the casting organized by TMC as I love taking
up challenges. Talking about challenges, representing Monaco at the Eurovision Song Contest is another interesting musical challenge Isnt it?
You finished second in last year's Monegasque casting, won by Märyon. How did you feel about that and could you imagine back then, that only one year later you would be selected to represent Monaco?
Lise Darly: In 2004, I was really disappointed by the decision of the jury but this year I am even happier to sing for the Principality. I never give up but always fight! Now, to be honest, I could not guess one second that I would be selected this year.
