According to our colleagues of escportugal.pt.vu, broadcaster RTP is currently making the final decision about its representative for the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest. The results of the internal selection will be made public later today.

RTP officials told escportugal.pt.vu that a meeting with the writers/composers is scheduled for this afternoon to select the performer of the song. It's generally expected RTP chooses one of the young talents from Operação Triunfo or Idols.

Yesterday, rumours on the internet said that Dana International would represent Portugal in Kiev. These rumours have been strongly denied by both RTP as well as Israeli sources.
