Ukraine is one of the few countries to select its Eurovision entry in December. The national final will take place on 23 December in Kyiv and will start at 10:50 CET (11:50 local time). Twenty acts will be selected by a professional jury to proceed to the final stage of the competition.

The national broadcaster of Ukraine reports that a total number of 38 song were submitted so far but they are still accepting entries as the deadline was set to 21 December at 14:00 CET when the auditions will kick-off. All applicants must perform their songs live in front of a professional jury consisting of 21 members all of them involved in the Ukrainian music industry.

The Ukrainian press revealed the names of the 38 acts that have applied so far for representing the Eastern European country in Malmö. This list includes some familiar names such as Vitaliy Galay, GODO, Lena Korneeva who have already competed in the national selections but also Alina Grosu, a well known singer who rose to fame when she was only 5 years old.
