C1R, Channel One Russia, the national Russian broadcaster has informed Esctoday.com that Russia will most likely compete at the forthcoming 2013 Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden next May. An official confirmation regarding the 2013 Russian Eurovision participation is expected in due course.

Russia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 with Youdiphh’s Vechni Stranik and won the event in 2008 with Dima Bilan’s Believe.  The country successfully hosted the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow. Russia has sent some of its most famous and celebrated artists to the contest: Dima Bilan, Alsou, Alla Pugacheva, Philip Kirkorov, TatU, Yulia Savicheva, Serebro and most recently the Buranovskye Babushki ( Buranavo Grannies).
