Danijela Martinovic, Croatias entrant at the Eurovision Song Contest 1998 has confirmed that she will be a participant at the 2005 Croatian Dora competition in her bid to once again represent Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, Kiev.

Danijela reached a very respectable fifth position in Birmingham with her song Neka mi ne svane back in 1998. In 2001 a jury decided that the song was in fact a copy of a song called K'o mirisni pupoljci, written in 1986 by music professor Vesna Zagar. Zagar stated that she had approached Tonci Huljic, a music producer in Croatia with strong Eurovision links, but he felt that the lyrics were too weak. However then to her surprise she found her song was now going on to represent Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest, over ten years after she had written it. The song now had an entire new set of lyrics by Remi Kazinoti. She immediately consulted her lawyers. It was concluded, after a trial lasting three years, that this was indeed a case of plagiarism of Zagars song. Graso had worked closely with Huljic in the late eighties. Vesna was awarded damages and was found to be entitled to half the publishing rights to one of Croatias most successful Eurovision entries.

However, Danijela makes a welcome return to Dora and possible Eurovision, with husband Peter Graso and lyricist Luke Jurase. No details are revealed about the style of the entry entitled, Za Tebe Roðena. Goran Karan, Croatia's Eurovision entrant in 2000 and one of Croatias most famous male artists, is also said to be making an appearance at Dora 2005. HRT will air 20 songs from the 7th-18th February, to be cut down to 16. Then there will be two semi finals across two nights (3rd and 4th March), with 8 songs in each, leading to a grand final on March 5th 2005.
