Ellen ten Damme has been selected for the German national final. The Dutch singer announced this yesterday on Dutch radio channel 3FM. Tom Jaspers, spokesperson of ten Damme's management, has confirmed the news. The lyrics of her song Plattgefickt however had to be censored.
“At first I wasn't interested in a participation,” said Ellen ten Damme on 3FM, but in the end the Ducth singer changed her mind. Ten Damme was supposed to sing the anti-war song Plattgefickt.
“The song is about a man who couldn't go to Irak since I fucked him until an inch of his life. But the organisers of the German national final forced us to change the title.” Ellen ten Damme will thus sing Plattglickt ('to lick' instead of 'to fuck').
Tom Jaspers, spokespeson of Ellen ten Damme, sees opportunities for his singer to make a carreer in Germany. An audio snippet of Plattgefickt can be found on Udo Lindenberg's website by clicking here. The German national final takes place on 12th March 2005.
