The first semifinal of the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest 2012 is about to take place. Eighteen countries will compete to become one of the ten qualifyers for the grand final, scheduled to be held on Saturday May 26th. The result will be determined by 50/50 jury deliberation and televoting.
The show
The first live show of this year’s Eurovision is set to commence at 21:00 CET (0:00 Baku time) and will last for about 2 hours. The show will be hosted by last year’s winner for Azerbaijan Eldar Gasimov, Nargiz Birk-Petersen and Leyla Aliyeva.
In yesterday’s Jury Semifinal, the expert juries already determined their votes by watching the live performances. These results have however not been revealed. The televoting will take place during the live show once the final performance has taken place.
The viewers of the 18 competing nations will be able to vote tonight, as well as those from Azerbaijan, Italy and Spain.
