For the first time, the Russian broadcaster Channel 1 organises a national final to select its 2005 Eurovision Song Contest participant. Vlad Yackovlev told that to esctoday.com earlier today. More details will be made available soon.

With the motto “win at home, win at Eurovision!” the Russian first channel broadcasts commercials to request musicians to send in songs for the Russian national final. One thing is already for sure: the audience will have a say in the selection of the 2005 Russian representative.

Last year at the Eurovision Song Contest in Istanbul, Julia Savicheva finished 11th for Russia with the song Believe me.
