France 3 has invited several established artists, authors and composers in order to make a good impression at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest. The French broadcaster will internally decide who will represent France in Kiev.
France 3 has appealed to a couple of well-known and established artists, authors and composers to represent France at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev. Furthermore, other artists can still submit their proposals until 15th January 2005.
A committee at the Entertainment Unit of France 3 will internally select the 2005 representative. As Bruno Berberes (pictured), French Head of Delegation, informed esctoday.com France 3 will announce its decision at the end of February 2005.
In spite of rumours that were published by a French TV magazine in August, suggesting that the French broadcaster France 3 was planning a public national final to select the French song for the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest, Bruno Berberes adds that until now there is no talk of a national selection program.
The last time France held a national final was in 2000, when Sofia Mestari won at l'Olympia in Paris with the song On aura le ciel. Since then Natasha St-Pier, Sandrine François, Louisa Baileche and Jonatan Cerrada have all been internally selected to represent France at the Eurovision Song Contest.
