A remarkable conclusion is the growing success of the Eurovision Song Contest and its national selections in the years that Flanders is responsible for the Belgian entry. In 1999, both programs did neither reach the viewers' top 3, nor the border of one and a half million viewers. In 2002, the Eurosong viewing figures have risen up to 1.680.000 and the Eurovision Song Contest itself up to 1.812.000 viewers. Eurosong 2004 could even do better.

A couple of days ago, Xandee's 1 Life was already announced the most sold single of 2004 in Flanders. Nevertheless a disappointing result at the Eurovision Song Contest, a shared 23th place, both Xandee and VRT can look back on a successful Eurovision year.
