Nolwenn Leroy will not appear at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev. The French singer, often named to represent Monaco or France, made an end to all rumours on her official website.
Nolwenn Leroy is the winner of the second edition of Star Academy in France whose name has been mentioned many times in rumours regarding the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest representatives of Monaco and France.
The chances of seeing the 22 year-old French singer at the Eurovision Song Contest increased when Phil Bosco, head of the Monegasque delegation, officially invited Nolwenn Leroy to represent Monaco in Kiev. But according to a message on her official website, Nolwenn is not interested in a Eurovision Song Contest participation: “To make an end to all rumours concerning the Eurovision Song Contest, Nolwenn will neither represent Monaco, nor France. Thank you.”
Monaco will participate in the qualifier round of the Eurovision Song Contest on 19th May in Kiev. As one of the big 4, France is directly qualified for the final on 21st May 2005.
