The male host for the Nationaal Songfestival 2005 is known. Hans Schiffers will join Nance on stage to present the 24 songs in the Dutch selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2005.
Hans Schiffers (44 years old) started his career at the pirate radio station City Radio. In 1985 he became known in the Netherlands as the host of the radio programme De baas van de week. After that, he has presented several popular programmes on Dutch radio like Het Steenen tijdperk, Popparazi and the very popular Arbeidsvitaminen. At the moment he hosts a daily show that is named after him, Schiffers.FM. This show pays a lot of attention to the Eurovision Song Contest and was awarded for that with the Eurovision Artists award in 2003.
Schiffers had a career on television too. In the early 90's he hosted game shows like Fort Boyard, Boggle and Sterrenslag. After that, Schiffers concentrated himself on his radio-work but now he returns to television. In an interview Schiffers said last year that he didn't mind to return to television as long as he believed in the programme and the people he had to work with.
Earlier, the TROS already announced that Nance will be the female host for the Nationaal Songfestival 2005 and that the jury will consist of Cornald Maas, Paul de Leeuw and Esther Hart. The 24 songs and artists will be announced on 17th December.
