Following reports from Israel, esctoday.com reported earlier that the planned Kdam-Eurovision will probably be cancelled. After these reports caused a little commotion in Israeli media, IBA's management deciced to make all efforts to broadcast a national final.
In an urgent meeting which was convened today with IBA's and Channel One (Israel's broadcaster) seniors , a decision to produce a televised selection contest, better known as the Kdam-Eurovision, was taken. It is still unknown whether this contest will be of a multiple rounds format or will just include one final, although it has been decided upon that the contest will feature a number of performers and songs, unlike in recent years when chosen performers suggested their own songs each year. According to this plan, the Kdam-Eurovision is scheduled to be broadcast the last week of February 2005.
Further more, IBA decided today to confirm its participation in the Eurovision Song Contest Extravaganza, to take place on 22nd October 2005 in Copenhagen.
