Tonight�s edition of Bondiplus on TVM in Malta tackles the current dispute between the Maltese Composers and Songwriters Union (UKAM) and the organising committee of the Maltese Song for Europe Festival. To allow or not to allow foreigners in the Maltese Song for Europe Festival? That's the question!
Both sides are insisting on their position, with the organising committee saying it does not recognise the union and the union replying that this is just a weak ploy to divert the discussion from what really matters. UKAM has also warned composers, singers, authors and other involved parties who do not support it that it will make life difficult for them.
The subject will be discussed on TVM tonight. The debate will be attended by Maltasong head Grace Borg, UKAM president John Vassallo, Fleur Balzan, Ivan Grech , Aldo Busuttil, Steve Aquilina and Philip Vella, who composed the Maltese entries Desire (2000), 7th Wonder (2002) and On Again�Off Again (2004).
