The performer of this year's Icelandic Eurovision Song Contest entry, Jónsi, along with his band Í svörtum fötum, will soon be releasing a new album.

Í svörtum fötum, translated as Men wearing black, has announced 19th November as the official release date for their album Á meðan ég sef (While I sleep).

Jónsi's popularity as an Icelandic artist does not seem to have suffered at all after his disappointing result at the 2004 contest, on the contrary it should be reported that his new album has been predicted to break an all time sales record on the Icelandic market, with the marjority of the albums already reserved, days before the official release date.

The album will only be available to the Icelandic public, however fans of Jónsi and his band all over the world will be able to order their copy online from www.skifan.is.

Asked by esctoday.com whether he would consider taking part in the contest again, Jónsi replied: “Never say never! If I'm approached with the right song, anything is possible”.
