Next Tuesday, the 28 songs for Melodifestivalen 2005 will be announced. According to Swedish news paper Expressen, some of the songs will be performed by artists with international success.
“We are trying to contact as many well-known artists as possible to perform at Melodifestivalen 2005”, says Thomas Hall, project manager of Melodifestivalen. Swedish broadcaster SVT has already succeded in negotiating with several world famous artists who are ready to participate in the competition. According to the SVT rules, song writers must be Swedish but the performers may be from other countries.
As we announced earlier, the four semi-finals of Melodifestivalen 2005 will take place in February and March 2005. For every semi-final SVT has selected a so called “joker”. SVT will announce the 28 songs for Melodifestivalen 2005 and their authors next Tuesday, 19th October.
