Former Eurovision Song Contest winner Rosemary Scallon, more widely known as Dana, is considering seeking a nomination for Presidency of Ireland. Dana won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1970, representing Ireland with the song All kinds of everything

However, right-wing Dana is lacking the support she needs and furthermore faces tough competition from current President Mary McAleese and other candidate Eamon Ryan. Two coucils have already chosen not to back Dana.

Dana previously competed in the Presidential elections in 1997 and came third. McAleeses popularity is very strong compared to Danas, and is estimated to win the competition by a landslide.
