Remember the winner of the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest? Since the parting of The Waves, Katrina has been a DJ with BBC Radio 2 on a late night slot for 18 months. Meanwhile she also did work as background vocalist on Natalie Imbruglia's hit song Torn. And now it's time for a new album!
Turn the tide is Katrina's new album, available since 13th September. After she won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1997 with Love shine a light, the band split up. Now she's working on her career as solo singer.
Katrina appearantly wants to motivate people to buy her album. Each disc comes with an individually autographed limited-edition photograph of Katrina. “We are also making available a bonus cd of unused tracks which didn't make it onto this album. This is a CDR which will not be commercially available anywhere else, and can only be ordered at the same time as ordering Turn the tide”, Katrina writes on her website. A generous idea!
According to one of our sources, the album is already a small success! Katrina is currently in Sweden to perform. Thursday she will perform at a charity for children gala in Grosvenor House, London.
