Mary-Lo have won the second semifinal of Eurokids 2004 in Belgium with the pop-rock song Laissez-moi rêver. Due to the disqualification of last week's semifinal winner Bess, RTBF changed the rules and lets the first three of each semifinal proceed to the final of Eurokids 2004.
French singer Jenifer, winner of the first edition of Star Academy in France, opened the show with her hit Ma révolution and sang in premiere for Eurokids 2004 her brand new single Le souvenir de ce jour as interval act. After the break the three Eurokids juries announced their votes. The kids jury and the jury of listeners of radio station Vivacité awarded 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 points. The results of the La Une televoting counted double.
These are the results of the second semifinal of Eurokids 2004:
1. 47 points | Mary-Lo – Laissez-moi rêver (Let me dream)
2. 43 points | Methiola – Samuser (To have fun)
3. 40 points | Manon – Mais la vie (But life)
4. 38 points | Alex – Ecoute-moi (Listen to me)
5. 32 points | Julie – Ma chance (My chance)
Mary-Lo is the sisterly duo Marine (13) and Laure (11) from Haccaurt. The girls received the maximum of the points from the kids jury and the televoting audience for their pop-rock song Laissez-moi rêver.
Due to the disqualification of last week's semifinal winner Bess, RTBF changed the rules and lets the first three of each semifinal proceed to the final of Eurokids 2004. On top of that all RTBF added Alex to the list of finalists because he was fourth in the second semifinal but scored more points than the number three in the first semifinal. That means that the next seven songs will compete for a ticket to Lillehammer during the final of Eurokids 2004 that takes place on Sunday 26th September:
Free Spirits – Accroche-toi (Hold on)
Hotvibes – Ma vraie identité (My real identity)
