Live from the SVT press conference, our colleages from the website ESCSweden reported the hosts cities for the Swedish semifinals and final to select an entry for the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest.
The first heat takes place in Göteborg on 12th February. For the second heat, we're going to Linköping on 19th February, the third heat takes place in Skellefteå on 26th February. For the fourth heat, the Melodifestivalen circus moves to Växjö on 5th March.
A second chance edition takes place in Stockholm on 6th March. The final of Melodifestivalen 2005 takes place in Stockholm, 12th march. There is no doubt that the final takes place in the Globen Arena, the venue of the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest.
The semifinals take place one week earlier than in previous years. SVT explained that the Scandinavium venue in Göteborg was already booked for 19th February, and thus everything has been scheduled one week earlier than usual.
