As we reported earlier today, the European Broadcasting Union has chosen DR's idea for the 50th anniversary show of the Eurovision Song Contest. Danish broadcaster DR has now announced more details about the Extravaganza concept. DR will try to gather as many former winners as possible.
The anniversary show will be a three hour walk back in time. It will honour the Eurovision Song Contest and offer viewers all across Europe the opportunity to listen to the most popular Eurovision songs again.
For the anniversary show, Danish broadcaster DR will try to gather as many former Eurovision Song Contest winners as possible. In addition, a special jury will select 10 previous winners to participate in a contest to select the best Eurovision Song Contest winning song of all time.
The anniversary show will take place in October 2005. A decision on where in Denmark the show will take place has not been made yet.
