Eight 4,5 meter high transmission satellite dishes and two 2,4 meter high receiving dishes located in the heart of the International Broadcasting Centre (IBC) its teleport area, a few hundred metres away from the Olympic Stadium, provides members with images of the Olympics via 4 network satellites. Twenty-four hours a day, this equipment provides the possibility of simultaneously organizing 5 multilaterals, 2 unilaterals and 27 services for 23 members. In addition to this, 108 optic fibres link the IBC to the teleport. Transmissions started on 6 August and will finish on 30 August. All transmissions are being submitted through the Eurovision network, which is also being used for the transmission of the Eurovision Song Contest.
