Sonia, who represented the United Kingdom in 1993 and achieved a respectable second place with the song, Better the devil you know has stated that she is soon to return to British television screens to appear in a new reality television show after appauling ticket sales of her tour of Educating Rita.
Part of her tour took her to the Regent Centre in Christchurch (a town near Bournemouth which officially has the largest percentage of over 65's in the country). The theatre has seating for five hundred people, but apart from a free ticket offer for local councilors, management were concerned to see they had sold just ten tickets for the show. As a result, Sonia pulled out, to be replaced by Leah Green (who plays Jake in The Tweenies).
However now she will be back on television once again, despite her rocky time on talent show Reborn In The USA, which set to relaunch a 'has-been' star. Sonia told, “I�ve agreed to do something for (Channel) Five, but I can't say anything about it yet but it's a very bizarre concept!”. Channel Five are famed for bizzare television with reality shows including a 'Big Brother' style show of previous reality television stars, a look at the history of Michael Jackson's face and a naked jungle! Fans can only wait to see what part Sonia plays in the new reality television show…
