Anna Vissi, who is considered to be the biggest female star in Greek music, has expressed her will to represent Greece in the 50th Eurovision Song Contest in the Ukraine, that is according to the Greek Eurovision website, Eurovision-Greece.com.
According to the Greek website, Vissi has expressed her desire to be the Greek entrant in the jubilee Eurovision Song Contest to be held next year, if only the Greeks would ask her. According to the same report, Anna Vissi is so confident in her selection for next year's contest, as she already pointed out it is expected to be cold during the song contest's period in the host country, Ukraine.
Greece is an automatic qualifier to next year's final (if the 2004 format will indeed be implemented again in 2005), since Sakis Rouvas insured the country's place in the final with his successful third position in the 2004 contest. This achievement became a spur to a few leading Greek artists to express their will to sing for their country next year, among them is Anna Vissi, who already represented Greece in 1980 and successfuly performed the evergreen Mono I Agapi for Cyprus in 1982, bringing them the 5th place.
