At the first press conference for Latvia held this afternoon, the main topic was the various languages the duo Formis & Kleins have recorded their song Dziesma par laimi in.

Delegates to the conference were given a promotional CD that contains nine versions of the song. In addition to the Latvian version, there is an Estonian, Lithuanian, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Finnish, Dutch and Belarussian version.

They announced that they also plan on recording the song in every European language, including that of their hosts – Turkey.

Only one and a half million people speak Latvian, and they want the European audience to hear their language, and that when the audience is watching and listening they will want to rock and roll!

When asked if they take the Eurovision Song Contest seriously, they replied that it was important to take part, not to win! They also went onto describe the stage as being “cool, big and professional!”

Latvia will take part in the qualifier round on 12th May.
