The Greeks have instigated a massive gamble on their Eurovision Song Contest entry that has left UK bookmakers William Hill well and truly shaken as Sakis Rouvas's odds have plummeted from 16/1 to be the 4/1 favourite!

William Hill spokeswoman Jennie Prest said: “In the last 24 hours we have been inundated with requests from our Greek clients to back their song and we kept shortening the odds but they still wanted more! They can't vote for their own song in the competition, but this strength of support is hard to ignore and it would seem Greece is the word!”.

All the support for Greece has seen previous favourites Belguim drift out to 9/1 and James Fox for the United Kingdom out to 14/1. Other entries that have been popular in the betting include Germany, Serbia and the Ukraine.
