BBC World chose Eurovision-winner Dave Benton as an Estonian character for a film about the identity of different European nations.

“We are making a film about the national identity of Europeans,” sayed Shirin Wheeler, a European correspondent of BBC World and regulated that the film will be mainly focused on ordinary people and cultural characters.

“We'll ask what do people in different European countries think and feel”, she described her work. “We are interested in how people look at the united-Europe”.

In Shirin Wheelers' opinion ordinary Europeans are loosing their national identity.

The correspondent wants to see Estonia in the film mainly because they won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2001.

“I believe, that Dave Benton is Your national hero !� she assumed. “Dave told me that after the victory the Prime Minister of Estonia called him personally,” admired she the manners of Estonians. She didn't hold back the emotions: “This is something completely new to me.”

“We are captivated, what do Estonians think about themselves and how the other nations think about Estonians.”
