On the 1st of May, the Polar Studios will close down. The famous music studio was owned by ABBA manager Stig Anderson and Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson.

The Polar Studios opened in 1978, four years after ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest with Waterloo for Sweden. ABBA recorded the last three albums in Polar.

Roxette, the Cardigans, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and the Backstreet Boys are only examples of other popular stars and groups that recorded in the Polar Studios in Stockholm.

The reason for the close-down is a problem between the owner and the renter.
