Tonight, the final of the Greek selection for the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest, EuroStar, takes place. One of the final three, Apostolos, Antonis and Ioanna, will represent Greece in Istanbul. But not alone…

Daphne Bokota, Head of Delegation at the Eurovision Song Contest since years for the Greek broadcaster ERT, told our colleagues of oikotimes.com more about tonight's final and about the rumours that the popular Greek singer Sakis Rouvas would go to Istanbul. Based on the information oikotimes.com got from ERT and several other sources, it's most likely that Rouvas will indeed join the EuroStar winner on stage in Istanbul, for example by singing a duet.

“ERT tries to find a way to have Sakis Rouvas in the game, because he wants to go to the Eurovision Song Contest. Meanwhile, ERT doesn't want to cancel EuroStar, since that would be a great scandal. It seems though, that Rouvas was the one – and some sources confirmed that to us – who approached ERT in the middle of the EuroStar process and said that he would like to represent Greece”, the Chief Editor of oikotimes.com said.

The Greek final kicks off around 21:00 CET. The winner of the final will sing three songs, all written by Nikos Terzis, in an extra programme on 17th March. The best song will be selected through televoting.
