Thilo Krassman has died at the age of 70 last night due to cancer. The Portuguese conductor and composer of German origin was conductor for Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest all in all six times; 1976, 1978, 1979, 1994, 1995 and 1997.

Thilo Krassman took part in many television programmes and participated in several Portuguese national finals for the Eurovision Song Contest.

His latest accomplishment in the Eurovision Song Contest was quite disappointing; in 1997 his song Antes do Adeus, performed by Célia Lawson, scored nil points.

Nevertheless, Krassman will be remembered as a dynamic and enthusiastic person who contributed positively to Portuguese show business.
