Lionel Richie, Mustafa Sandal and berlin-based duo Rosenstolz will be the guest stars of Germany 12 points!, the country's preselection to be held March 19. The German representative for Istanbul will be selected in a superfinal, where televoters have to chose between the two best-placed artists of the first voting round.
The three guest stars were announced by broadcaster Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) today. Jürgen Meier-Beer of NDR said: “I am very happy that Rosenstolz are going to present their new song 'Liebe ist alles' ('Love is everything') in our show. They were the first to mark the the new beginning of the Song Contest in Germany.” Rosenstolz (picture: still from their latest clip) came second in the German preselection of 1998 with their song Herzensschöner.
NDR also announced the voting procedere of this year's final: after the performance of all 11 participants (2 of them are still unsure as they have to score a top 40 hit as a precondition to get a wildcard), viewers can vote for their favorite by phone or SMS. After a break, the two best-placed artists of the first round have to duel when the phone lines will be re-opened for a second and final vote. Only the results of the second round will be published by NDR.
